PICNIC TIME for 青年人

Hello Hello Hello... Calling attention to all YOUNG ADULTS!
Yes, PEAR is calling out to all 青年人!!!
Finally... We will be having outing at FORT CANNING PARK on the September 5th 2009.
It's a saturday!
Time : 5.15pm ( tentatively will be this timing )

We will be having PICNIC!!!

Would strongly encourage everyone to bring ONE DISH~
Do inform me or kaixiang the DISH you would like to bring, ya? (will let you guys know, to prepare how much quantity, soon! sorry.)

OKyaya BBQ session..

it has been a long time since we had any bbq..
so thank you to rong, wanxin and shi yan for all the planning for the entire day's program..
(round of applause!)
and of course all who helped prepared the food..

so we started off we a "treasure hunt" in church..
sadly, no1 took any pics.. so lets move on.. haha..
ok.. we were supposed to look for places based on the clues given to us and at the designated area, we were supposed to look for a piece of paper printed with a shen ling guo zi..
walked ard the private estate area before heading back to church in search of the final clue..

after tat we headed to kai's place for frisbee!






really tiring, running up and down the court..
jumping ard trying to catch the frisbee..
the wind was really big..
but thank God we had a fantastic weather!








after frisbee, we sat down for a less tiring game..
was it called "have you ever"??



finally it was time to start the fire!
as we had 2 pits, somehow, it was divided into the gals n guys pit..
so the girls started fire for one pit, and the guys started the other.. lol
dont look down on girls ok.. we had a strong fire going all the way to the end!

oh.. n poor yong kiat could not eat anything bcoz of his chicken pox.
its a painful process.. i understand.

the eating and bbq-ing ended with a little song singing session...


i think it was a great way to bond..
seriously, while we were singing.. it felt like a campfire session without the campfire..
haha!

anyways, i hope all of u enjoyed yourselves,
even though i was feeling hot and sticky and tired..
i still had fun.

短宣祷告事项

今年5月30日-6月8日，亲邻基督教会青年团将会有6位弟兄姐妹和彩霞老师，家凤传道一家到柬埔寨短宣。我们将到黄才利传道的学生中心和他，他的家人和那里的学生一起生活，体验黄传道所作的工和在异国与一大群陌生人相处的经历。这里有几个祷告事项，请你们为我们祷告。

1. 为我们每一位参与者能够在灵命上有所渴慕，预备好心去短宣。
2. 为黄传道一家，和他的事奉代祷。他的事工网站是http://www.cambodiacrossroads.org/，可以去观看并更深了解。
3. 为H1N1疫情的扩散祷告，让我们的团队能平安的滴答柬埔寨，也能平安的回返。

Sports Day 2009!

If you look at the bottom right hand corner of this blog, you'll see a link that says sports day photos. and that's the link for last (or was it last last?) sports day!! it's a little exciting, isn't it, that this blog is more than a year old at least.

Anyway, Sports Day has come and gone, and it was a good time of games and fellowship for everyone! it was really fun, and the big family of oikos church came together, young and old and the in betweens, to play the games that kaixiang, renjie and yuanli laoshi put together. The games were really interesting! Thanks organisers!

For those who missed it, you've to wait a year before the next one, but i'm sure it'll be worth the wait, just like this one was. :D

全新的你

Hello all..
this event was held on the 11th of april (as seen in the promo from the last post.)
so the past saturday we had our rally,
although it rained in the noon, but God gave us good weather before our event officially started
so we enjoyed a cool evening!

i think many would agree the "cocktail" session is a great way to interact with the new comers
and many of the youths also had a fun time shooting the darts and erm..
getting dirty with the soap.. please thanks kaiqi for planning and preparing for the games..
of course we cannot forget miao ling n SK who prepare the food n drinks..










like what was mentioned this afternoon during the feedback session,
we have all grown.. this year we were more initiative, going up to new comers,
helping each other out in every aspect and praying more often..
of course we still have rooms for improvement..

all in all i would say its a job well done!
1 person has accepted Christ and joined our big family on sat..

Good job to all youths and young adults..!!
may this be another learning milestone for all of us
in our journey in serving our Lord..
